PERSONAL. The Head Master of ETON COLLEGE. Mr J.E. Lewis. Windsor Berkshire SL4 6DW UNITED KINGDOM. Date: 31 March 1997. Concerns: Curriculum. Reference: JH/EC970331. Dear Mr Lewis, I would like to inform you that I studied your information with great care and attention. I recognize much of my secondary school period at the Nijmeegs Lyceum, that at the time had a good relationship with your college. Besides I took specificly notice of your programme of Economics, Government and Politics (Economic implications of British membership of the European Union and other international institutions), Government and Politics (Modern British Politics - European context and role of Britain in European institutions) and Political Philosophy. Also your language-programme for English and Foureign Languages appeal to me. As the former director of a Dutch Language Institute with an avarage of 3.000 adult students I recognize a lot of your language-programmes. I also always have been a great admiror of Shakespeare who appears to have an important function in your English programme. Also your subjects of History and History of Art have my attention. This letter is to inform that my highest ambition is to develop a career plan for Prince William in good consultation with concerned parties. That will be the main objective of my visit of April 23. As the general manager of Instituto Cervantes in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, England and Wales I can delegate the development of the 'Instituto' to executive managers. This process has started already. I am happy with the proposed contact with your Head of Spanish Mr John Brooks, who is leaving ETON COLLEGE in July as I noticed. I should like to make a start with giving Spanish lessons to Prince William. If there might arise a vacancy in the direction of your Modern Language Department in the future, I will be available. I dispose of letters of recommendation from the Royal Houses of Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands and all qualifications. Within this matter some months ago I decided the Princess of Wales to be my Prime Confident in the United Kingdom. I will authorize Her by written declaration to inform you about my Curriculum Vitae and send Her the text of this letter. Yours sincerely, INSTITUTO CERVANTES Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, England and Wales. J.L. Van der Heyden.
