By Monica Greep For Mailonline  Published: 19:24 BST, 6 October 2021 | Updated: 19:30 BST, 6 October 2021 The Queen was the picture of elegance today as she stepped out to meet members of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery in her first appearance at Windsor Castle following her return to Balmoral. Her Majesty was resplendent in blue as she chatted with members of the Canadian Armed Forces, who have been invited to serve as the Queen’s Guard in honour of the regiment’s 150th anniversary. She donned the Canadian Maple Leaf Royal Brooch, which was initially gifted from her King George VI to his wife, Queen Elizabeth, for their state visit of Canada in 1939. The monarch, who last week spoke publicly for the first time about her late husband Prince Philip’s death, appeared in good spirits as she spoke with soldiers at Windsor Castle. It’s her first time being pictured at her Berkshire home, which she arrived at on Saturday following an extended stay at her Scottish estate following Prince Philip’s death.

13:35 Ontvangen The Queen is seen for first time since Sheikh phone tap scandal By Dan Sales For Mailonline Published: 12:08 BST, 7 October 2021 | Updated: 12:40 BST, 7 October 2021. The Queen has been seen for the first time today after news broke of her Dubai ruler friend being responsible for illegal UK phone hacking.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was able to snoop on the parliamentary emails of Tory peer and former royal lawyer Fiona Shackleton. The Queen, who faced pressure to cut ties with him, looked unperturbed by the revelations as she left Windsor Castle by car this morning. Her Majesty seemed relaxed as she raised her arm slightly, flanked by what was thought to be an aide on the back seat of the motor. She was heading to Buckingham Palace to launch the Baton Relay for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Yesterday it emerged Sheikh Mohammed also hacked the iPhone of Ms Shackleton’s client Princess Haya, his wife who fled to Britain in fear of her life and those of her staff. The extraordinary revelations should prove a ‘wake-up call’, Labour MP Chris Bryant said last night. He added: ‘The Foreign Office needs to do a proper inquiry into our relationship with Dubai and I would have thought the Foreign Secretary will be summoning in the ambassador for a ‘meeting without coffee’.’ A senior judge concluded that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the horse race-loving friend of the Royal Family and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, committed a ‘total abuse of trust and indeed an abuse of power’. He previously orchestrated the armed kidnap of his runaway daughter Princess Shamsa from Cambridgeshire in 2000, persuading Tony Blair’s government to hush it up, the High Court heard. He also allegedly abducted her sister Princess Latifa when she too tried to flee Dubai. Sir Andrew McFarlane’s ruling said yesterday: ‘It is more probable than not that the surveillance of the six phones … was carried out by servants or agents of the father … with [his] express or implied authority.’ But one royal source added: ‘I suspect the Queen’s reaction will be determined by how the Government decides to handle this. It’s a tricky one, as the UAE are a key ally of the UK.’  Haya’s high-profile solicitor Baroness Shackleton, a Tory peer who acted for Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney in their divorces, was among those targeted in the astonishing cyber hacking mission. She reported to Black Rod, the monarch’s representative in the House of Lords, that her ‘parliamentary email, my own email, my WhatsApp messages, my pictures and my texts are all visible to somebody else’. Scotland Yard and the National Crime Agency have been informed of the hacking. The Met said it had received ‘multiple allegations of crime including unauthorised access and interception of digital devices and offences contrary to the Computer Misuse Act relating to six complainants’. Detectives launched an investigation and ‘significant inquiries were carried out’ for five months – but the inquiry was shut down in February. Last night the sheikh said: ‘I have always denied the allegations made against me and I continue to do so. These matters concern supposed operations of state security. ‘As a head of government involved in private family proceedings, it was not appropriate for me to provide evidence on such sensitive matters either personally or via my advisers in a foreign court. ‘Neither the Emirate of Dubai nor the UAE are party to these proceedings and they did not participate in the hearing.’ The cyber-hacking mission took place during a critical phase in the sheikh and Haya’s custody case at the High Court in the summer of last year. The case continues.

The Crown recreates most famous moment of The Queen’s ‘annus horribilis’ when 15-hour fire tore through the castle in November 1992 after a faulty spotlight set alight a curtain next to the altar in Queen Victoria’s private chapel. Scenes were recorded at Burghley House, near Stamford, Lincolnshire  this week. Exclusive pictures show the building in ‘flames’ as fire crews work to battle blaze. Imelda Staunton, replacing Olivia Colman, arrived to the set in a Range Rover. The Queen was not staying at Windsor when the original fire broke out in 1992 By Eleanor Sharples Tv & Radio Reporter For The Daily Mail  Published: 22:00 BST, 1 October 2021 | Updated: 22:34 BST, 1 October 2021

The devastating fire at Windsor Castle was just one of the challenges faced by the Royal Family in its ‘annus horribilis’. And it appears that historic moment has been recreated for the next instalment of The Crown. Exclusive pictures obtained by the Daily Mail show ‘flames’ ripping through a building standing in for the Queen’s Berkshire residence as the fire service battles to put them out. The scenes, from the fifth series of the Netflix drama, were shot at Burghley House, near Stamford in Lincolnshire this week. The fire broke out in November 1992 in Queen Victoria’s private chapel after a faulty spotlight set alight a curtain next to the altar. The blaze burned for 15 hours and destroyed 115 rooms, including nine State RoomsThe Queen was not staying at Windsor at the time but she arrived after the blaze began. Pictures taken on set appear to show Imelda Staunton, who has replaced Olivia Colman as the monarch, arriving at the castle in a Range Rover. The photos also showed artwork and furniture stacked outside the castle after being saved. It has not yet been confirmed what exact storylines the final two series will follow, but it is believed that the show will continue to focus on the breakdown of Charles’ and Diana’s marriage. Dominic West, 51, will play the prince and Elizabeth Debicki, 31, has replaced Emma Corrin as Diana. The drama could also focus on the separation of Prince Andrew from Sarah Ferguson and Princess Anne’s divorce from Mark Phillips, which all happened in 1992. The Crown series five will be released in November next year: Mijn 75ste verjaardag.

09:22 Ontvangen Kate Middleton and Prince William enjoy burger and chips pub lunch with George, Louis and Charlotte Royals were seen tucking into pub grub at undisclosed beer garden in Norfolk. William was seen consoling one of the youngsters whose food was too hot to eat. Kate and William appeared relaxed and happy after spate of public engagements. Punters were shocked to see Prince William and Kate Middleton tucking into a pub lunch in Norfolk at the weekend. The royal pair were joined by Princes George, aged eight, and Louis, three and Princess Charlotte, six, as they all enjoyed burgers and chips at the undisclosed beer garden on Saturday. The family’s black spaniel Lupo was also in attendance – spotted sniffing around the wooden table as the royals tucked into some traditional English pub grub.  William, donning a navy jumper and light blue shirt, was seen consoling one of the youngsters when their food proved too hot to eat.  Meanwhile young George kept it more casual than usual in a turquoise t-shirt, shorts and trainers. The happy couple appeared relaxed as they enjoyed some family time after a busy spate of public engagements. Kate had recently met with Afghan veterans in Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and cadets in Lake Windermere, before playing doubles with US Open champion Emma Raducanu in Roehampton. Meanwhile Prince William had attended emergency services day in London and visited football youth teams. A witness told the Sun: ‘It was amazing to see how down-to-earth the family were.

‘It would have been easy to miss them – and just assume they were any other family. ‘They were laughing and chatting and clearly enjoying each other’s company.’ The witness added: ‘They were eating outside, I suppose because it was easier for the children. ‘There was no security around, just them chilling like any other family. Wills had a burger and chips. ‘They had their pet dog, a spaniel with them, and they were all laughing.  ‘There was one particularly touching moment where one of the children got upset because their food was too hot. ‘William was so fast to reassure them and sort them out. It was fantastic to see.’ The family day out came as it was revealed Prince William and David Attenborough will present a new BBC programme about the environment. The show will feature pioneers who have been recognised for finding innovative solutions to the most pressing climate issues. In a trailer introducing the documentary, The Earthshot Prize: Repairing Our Planet, The Duke of Cambridge, 39, tells viewers ‘this is a moment for hope, not fear’. The Queen’s grandson, who lives at Kensington Palace in London with Kate and their three children, will speak with winners of The Earthshot Prize, a global competition he launched alongside The Royal Foundation in October 2020, in the five-part series. The series will air from October 3, and each episode will focus on a different environmental issue – protecting and restoring nature, fixing the climate, combating air pollution, reviving the oceans, and tackling waste.

Where have you been this afternoon?” Mijn antwoord “I’ve been to Eton College. I’ve got some friends up there.” Waarop zij antwoordde met “Yes I know. Prince William. I know him from the Pizzahut in Windsor”.

10:14 Meghan’s subtle tribute to Diana: Duchess of Sussex carried 3,450 pounds Dior bag named after the late princess in New York – while als wearing her mother-in-law’s Cartier watch By Chloe Morgan For Mailonline Published: 09:04 BST, 27 September 2021 | Updated: 09:09 BST, 27 September 2021 Meghan Markle paid a subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana by carrying a Dior bag named after her in New York – while also wearing her Cartier watch. The Duchess of Sussex, 40, stepped out at the Global Live Citizen event on Saturday wearing a black coat and scarf in 76F weather – but it was her accessories that captured the attention of royal fans. The mother-of-two paid a touching tribute to late Princess Diana by carrying Christian Dior’s Lady D-Lite bag, which retails at £3,450. Originally called ‘Chouchou,’ the Lady Dior bag changed its name in 1996 in honour of Princess Diana after she was seen using it. The boxy bag was gifted to the late royal by the First Lady of France in September 1995, at the opening of the Paul Cézanne retrospective at Paris’s Grand Palais. At this time, the Chouchou wasn’t yet on sale to the public, and only in the possession of the world’s one per cent. And it wasn’t long before Diana starting pairing the black patent bag with many of her chic ensembles – including a white Versace suit that she wore during a trip to Argentina on November 26, 1995. Admitting it ‘suited her well,’ the late royal then went on to commission another in navy blue to match the colour of her eyes.
