As you may be aware, we co-sponsored the recent New Year's day walk during The Land, The Light; The Locals festival. We also had normal-distance walks on the 3 days beforehand for the first time. Despite the snowy conditions everyone seemed to enjoy the walks and hopefully we can repeat these in 2002/2003 if Ros recovers enough to organise the event again! I'm pleased to enclosed our walking brochure in the hope that you will revisit the Borders again and maybe have a few days walking with us. We do walks between Monday and Friday and you are welcome to come for how every many days is convenient. The cost is £105 per person for the walking package of 5 days guided walks (Monday - Friday). Short Breaks cost £21 per day. For details of family and group discounts please refer to pages 5 and 6 in the main brochure. Hotel details As mentioned in our brochure, we have negotiated a special deal for Middle Marches guests at a local hotel. The offer is for every week of 2002 subject to availability.

The price is £211 per person for the following:
· 6 nights B&B (Sunday- Friday)
· 5 packed lunches (Monday - Friday)
· 6 evening meals (Sunday - Friday).

The price is based on an average evening meal costing £11. If you wish to eat more, or less, for your evening meal then the price will be adjusted accordingly. The special price is also available to non-walking partners. Single clients are assured of a room to themselves. Important: the £211 does NOT include any of the walking package (£105). You pay us £105 as normal to book the walks, we book the hotel for you, and you pay the hotel at the end of your stay.

The hotel:
Elm House Hotel. Situated not far from the town centre, this is rated 2 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board. All rooms are ensuite and have colour TV and tea making facilities. The hotel has drying facilities. The hotel is family-run and highly recommended by our guests who have stayed there.
